Stranger Things Season 4 is finally about to arrive after a wait of nearly 3 years. Netflix has already released the trailer and some short teasers which give us a brief idea about this series.
For this season just like Money Heist’s final season, Netflix will air episodes in two installments. This is just a strategy to keep the excitement and hype among the fans for this penultimate season. Stranger Things Season 5 will be the final season and has already been green lit by Netflix.

What’s peculiar about this season is its length. The nine episodes total a watch time of 13 hours. While the first 7 episodes will be around the 1 hour mark, the last four episodes are by far the longest any Stranger Things Season has ever had. Volume 1 is comprising of 7 episodes and the second installment of the last 3.
This season will focus a lot on character development so expect the episodes to be slow.
Plot
Stranger Things Season 4 takes places 6 months after the events for Season 3. It’s year 1985 in Hawkins. The main characters are separated into 3 groups. Eleven is with the Byers family in California, Jim Hopper is in Russian Prison and the rest of the group is in Hawkins.
Hence, there will be 3 main storylines in the beginning and separate ones for the group in Hawkins, all of which will merge into one in the end.
This series will introduce several new characters as well new elements such as Vecna and The Creel House. Vecna is the main villain of Season 4 who’ll have ties with The Creel House. It’s easy to tell from some of the episode titles about what we will get to see in each.

Here’s how the plot will focus on our main characters:
Eleven
Eleven has moved with the Byers family to California. She doesn’t have her powers now and being separated from her friends and Mike is challenging for her. Eleven will be seen struggling with her identity. It seems that we get to see her past in Episode 8 which will explore her relationship with Doctor Brenner. Netflix recently released a short video clip which confirms this.
Eleven will get a letter from the Russian prison saying that Hopper needs help.
Max
Max was introduced in the previous season. In this season we’ll see her grieving the loss of her brother Billy who sacrificed himself. Stranger Things Season 4 focuses on her character as she’s a perfect vessel to possess.
Mike
Mike will visit Dustin’s long distance girlfriend. However, later we may also see him visit Eleven. The events of this season will put their relationship to test.
Hopper
Hopper is currently in a Russian prison which has its own demogorgon. It’s not sure about how he’s getting back to Hawkins yet, but we’ll see him struggling in the prison until he’s rescued.
Nancy, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Steve
Although we’ll see them as supporting characters, their storyline will also be pivotal for this season. Nancy is working at The Mental Asylum at Hawkins. We already see Dustin and Steve in the Creel House although they’ll also explore Lover’s Lake.
Will is perfectly safe in this season and there isn’t any connection with him and the upside down world anymore.
It’s hard to tell how this series will end but it surely be a satisfying end full of supernatural things and action.

Stranger Things Season 4 – Characters who could die
Death has always followed supernatural events and this season of Stranger Things is no exception to death. We may see bidding farewell to the following characters:
Steve Harrington
Steve was originally written as a bully who wouldn’t last long, but his performance captivated The Duffel Brothers’ hearts, and they decided to keep him.
He quickly became a fan favorite and has certainly progressed. His character development has also been outstanding. When there’s danger nearby, he’s not the one to take a step back. Steve is also not a member of the original Hell Fire Club and may be considered an outcast. As a result, we may witness his death.
The B-Name Death Spree
Every character that has died in Stranger Things had a first or last name starting with B may it be Barbara Holland, Bob Newby, Billy Hargrove or Martin Brenner. This brings us to Murray Bauman – The Conspiracy Theorist.
Bauman is extremely knowledgeable about Russian politics because of which he may come in handy to rescue Hopper but the chances of him making through this season are slim.
Joyce Byers
This also means that the Byers family is always on the edge of dying but this season I’m vouching for Joyce Byers as she’s been around for all the three seasons and has definitely been through a lot. She has finally found a bit of piece in California.
Her return to Hawkins may mean death bells ringing for her.
New Characters:
It’s entirely possible that one of the new characters die. We’ve seen this already that the plot kills the character before developing them. This brings Cheerleader Chrissy, Argyle and Vickie on the list.
Whatever happens, I’m sure that we’ll enjoy every bit of Stranger Things Season 4.
